Summit is Zermatt’s only exclusively British owned and run ski school. Set up in 2004 by Paul Hammett, Erica & Henry Meredith Hardy, who between them have now spent over 40 winters in Zermatt. They have worked hard to create a strong team who love to ski and deliver high quality lessons all winter long.
As a team of 25 instructors Summit offers group lessons for adults and kids, as well as private lessons. You can learn to ski, snowboard or telemark with some of the most highly qualified British instructors in the Alps.
Zermatt is a ski resort that has something for everyone and as a school Summit delivers the same. If you are technically minded then their group lessons offer the opportunity to get great input on your skiing in a small group (maximum of 6) taught in English, at a great price per morning too. At the other end of the spectrum if you are after someone to help your skiing, show you the best snow and terrain for your ability and make sure you have the best possible restaurant booked for lunch then try their ‘no limit’ day and have the instructor meet you at the hotel for a great day out.
When it comes to group lessons Summit’s are as flexible as they come. They run mornings 6 days a week (not Saturday) and you can book however many you like, so you are not committed to the whole week. Also there is a 20% discount if you book 3 or more group sessions. Kids groups run during the peak season and are offered in the same format.
When the team are not teaching they are often to be found out training towards their next exam or just ripping around having fun and enjoying life in the mountains.
